Shenzhen confirms 2 more imported COVID-19 cases with total cases in city rising to 425

Shenzhen confirmed 2 imported COVID-19 cases on Mar. 17, adding the number of imported cases in the city to 8, according to the latest figures released by the Health Commission of Shenzhen Municipality today.

Both cases are expatriates working in Shenzhen. They returned to China from the United Kingdom and the Netherlands respectively, and both were confirmed of infection after arriving in Shenzhen.

Case 7 was confirmed in the early morning of Mar. 17. The patient, a 23-year-old male of British nationality working in Shenzhen, returned to China from the United Kingdom. He was sent to hospital directly from Shenzhen Bay Checkpoint and was later confirmed of infection. Previously, he lived in Bao’an District. He left China for London on Jan. 12. The patient has been transferred to Shenzhen No. 3 People’s Hospital for treatment. Preliminary tracing results show that no persons on the Chinese mainland have had close contact with the patient.

Case 8 was confirmed on the morning of Mar. 17. The patient, a 29-year-old male of Dutch nationality working in Shenzhen, returned to China from the Netherlands. He underwent medical observation after arriving in Shenzhen Airport and was later confirmed of infection. Previously, he lived in Luohu District. He left China for the Netherlands for vacation on Jan. 27. The patient has been transferred to Shenzhen No. 3 People’s Hospital for treatment. The 5 persons on the Chinese mainland who have been traced to have had close contact with the patient have all been quarantined for medical observation. Disinfection has been carried out in areas including his residence.

The 8COVID-19 cases the city has confirmed since Feb. 22 were all imported from other countries.

Case 1, a 35-year-old male of Chinese nationality returning from the United Kingdom, was confirmed of infection on Mar. 1;

Case 2, a 70-year-old female of Chinese nationality returning from Spain, was confirmed of infection on Mar. 6;

Case 3, a 25-year-old male of Chinese nationality returning from France, was confirmed of infection on Mar. 11;

Case 4, a 52-year-old male of Chinese nationality returning from the Philippines, was confirmed of infection on Mar. 14.

Case 5, a 13-year-old male of Chinese nationality returning from Switzerland, was confirmed of infection on Mar. 15.

Case 6, a 31-year-old male of Chinese nationality returning from the Philippines, was confirmed of infection on Mar. 15.

Case 7, a 23-year-old male of British nationality returning from the United Kingdom, was confirmed of infection on Mar. 17.

Case 8, a 29-year-old male of Dutch nationality returning from the Netherlands, was confirmed of infection on Mar. 17.

As of Mar. 17, Shenzhen has confirmed a total of 425 COVID-19 cases. Another 1 patient was discharged from hospital the same day.

Of the confirmed cases, 204 are male and 221 are female.

In terms of district distribution, 87 cases were reported in Nanshan District, 83 in Futian District, 71 in Longgang District, 62 in Bao'an District, 34 in Longhua District, 32 in Luohu District, 11 in Guangming District, 7 in Pingshan District, 6 in Yantian District, and 2 in Dapeng New District. The other 30 cases were detected upon entry to the city (from the airport, bus stations, ferry terminals, checkpoints and roadblocks etc.).

Currently, 1 patient is in critical condition, 1 in severe condition and 403 have been discharged from hospital. 3 deaths have been reported so far.

All 19 patients are being treated at Shenzhen No. 3 People's Hospital. 120 people in close contact with the patients are under medical observation.

　　第七例

　　23岁英国籍男性

　　第七例于3月17日凌晨确诊，患者从英国前往中国，经深圳湾口岸入境后，从口岸被直接送院，随后被确诊。

　　患者为英国籍，男性，23岁，在深圳工作，此前居住于深圳市宝安区，1月12日返回英国伦敦。

　　目前患者已被转到深圳市第三人民医院隔离治疗。经初步判定，患者在中国内地无密切接触者。

　　第八例

　　荷兰籍29岁男性

　　第八例于3月17日早上确诊，患者从荷兰前往中国，经深圳机场入境后接受医学观察，随后被确诊。

　　患者为荷兰籍，男性，29岁，在深圳工作，此前居住于深圳市罗湖区，1月27日返回荷兰休假。

　　目前患者已被转到深圳市第三人民医院隔离治疗。经初步判定，患者在中国内地密切接触者有5名，均已被集中隔离。疾控部门已对其住所等区域进行消杀。

　　深圳6例境外输入“新冠”病例

　　自2月22日以来，深圳共新增8例新冠肺炎病例，均为境外输入。

　　第一例，3月1日确诊，英国输入，35岁中国籍男性；

　　第二例，3月6日确诊，西班牙输入，70岁中国籍女性；

　　第三例，3月11日确诊，法国输入，25岁中国籍男性；

　　第四例，3月14日确诊，菲律宾输入，52岁中国籍男性；

　　第五例，3月15日确诊，瑞士输入，13岁中国籍男性；

　　第六例，3月15日确诊，菲律宾输入，31岁中国籍男性；

　　第七例，3月17日确诊，英国输入，23岁英国籍男性；

　　第八例，3月17日确诊，荷兰输入，29岁荷兰籍男性。

　　截至3月17日24时，深圳累计报告“新冠肺炎”病例425例。3月17日当天新增2例，出院1例。累计报告确诊病例中，男性204例、女性221例。

　　按照病例管理地区划分，南山区87例、福田区83例、龙岗区71例、宝安区62例、龙华区34例、罗湖区32例、光明区11例、坪山区7例、盐田区6例、大鹏新区2例、其他（指由机场、车站、码头、关口、路卡等直接送往定点医院的）30例。

　　目前，重症1例、危重症1例，死亡3例，累计出院403例。

　　19例确诊病例均在深圳市第三人民医院隔离治疗。

　　120名密切接触者正在接受医学观察。
