SZ reports 8 more local confirmed COVID-19 cases

Shenzhen reported eight new locally transmitted confirmed cases of COVID-19 yesterday.

Six out of the eight new local cases were found among the close contacts of COVID patients reported since Tuesday. The new patients include a 32-year-old female working and living in Bantian Subdistrict, Longgang District, a 52-year-old female working in Nanhu Subdistrict, Luohu District and living in Buji Subdistrict, Longgang District, and four males aged 33, 34, 42 and 58 respectively who work and live in Bantian Subdistrict, Longgang District. Four of them have been diagnosed as mild cases of COVID-19, while the rest two have been diagnosed as normal cases of COVID-19.

The other two new local cases were detected during screenings for key groups. The first case involves a 28-year-old female working and living in Bantian Subdistrict, Longgang District who has been diagnosed as a mild case of COVID-19. The second case involves a 42-year-old male who is a cross-border truck driver. He has been diagnosed as a normal case of COVID-19.

The patients have been transferred to the Third People’s Hospital of Shenzhen for treatment. All of them are in stable condition.

Separately, Shenzhen reported 13 imported confirmed cases and two imported asymptomatic cases yesterday.

All the patients were put under closed-loop management upon entry from Hong Kong and later transferred to the Third People’s Hospital of Shenzhen for treatment. The patients are now in stable condition.
