SZ reports 25 new local COVID-19 cases

Shenzhen reported 25 new locally transmitted COVID-19 confirmed cases yesterday, most of whom were found among centrally quarantined close contacts of COVID patients reported earlier in the city.

Only five of the new local cases were detected in routine screenings of the virus that causes COVID in key areas and one identified in screenings among key groups of people.

All of the new local patients have been transferred to the emergency wards of the Third People's Hospital of Shenzhen for treatment. They are all in stable condition.

The authorities are tracking all close contacts and secondary close contacts of the patients, and those who have been identified have been placed under centralized quarantine.

Residents are reminded to take good precaution measures including wearing a face mask, washing hands frequently, maintaining good ventilation and observing social distancing.
